Third Credit Project
For my Third Credit Project, I use circuitry to create a Polaroid-style card which can simulate the effect of taking a photo. If you press the shutter button on the camera, the white led light will shine like a flashlight. In this project, I want to combine different forms of new media and I used AI tools for image-to-video generation to transform this camera into one that can actually "take photos" and capture an image of sunset.
I feel that AI has developed rapidly in the past two years. Whether it’s large language models like ChatGPT for text generation, text-to-image generators like Midjourney for designs, or a variety of tools for generating videos from images, AI has gradually and deeply integrated into our lives.
Recently, I’ve experimented with AI in this project and the Three Dice project. However, I’ve found that creating art with AI is not as simple as I imagined and it strongly depends on the prompts I wrote. It’s still a somewhat unpredictable process, often requiring a bit of luck. Although generating a single video can take a long time and requires a lot of adjustment, but the process is incredibly interesting.
