Connections to Classroom Teaching: 2D Design

1 Album Cover Design

Each student selects a favorite song and designs an album cover for it. Students can create the cover by hand or use existed photos, and they should put the song title and artist's name on the cover. Students are encouraged to use different patterns, fonts, and colors to convey the mood and emotion of the music. Once completed, they can present and share the ideas behind their designs.

2 Class Flag Project

Each student creates a design for their name or a nickname using drawing or collage techniques. Once everyone finishes, the designs will be assembled to form a unique class flag, which will be displayed in the classroom.

3 Mini Newspaper Collaboration

Students will work in groups of three to create a mini newspaper using colored pencils and paper. Each member shares a meaningful news story they recently read and adds relevant design elements. The group should coordinate their styles to ensure visual harmony in the newspaper. At the end of the class, students can present and share the ideas behind their designs.
